Planetary Weather Report

July 2008

Uranus, the planet of awakening is definitely charging the Cosmic atmosphere for the month since it reversed directions on June 26th with revelations and revolutions on the inner planes.  Uranus is anything but subtle.  In fact, Uranus is kind of like a lightning bolt, connecting the endless possibilities of heavenly realms to Terra Firma. He delights in turning some area of our lives upside down with unexpected surprises and new and fascinating insights.  He's a Big Cosmic Trickster whose job is to wake us up, keep us paying attention to what is happening right NOW. So give Him a break and take a look at the changes you know you have to make.  After all, He's just doing His job of inviting us to be a part of Divine Mind and think outside the box for solutions to life's ups and downs. Do any of us seriously think that "getting things back to normal" actually exists anymore? 

Some of us will be really excited by all the new opportunities for breakthroughs in our thinking.  At the same time, some us will be scheduling breakdowns, whether consciously or unconsciously, with all the uncertainty that most people are living with. Most of us will probably do a little of each.  So breathe.  And breathe again.  It's free.  You don't have to spend any money on gas and it gets you into another state immediately. Uranus has been in visionary Pisces for several years and will stay there for a few more (2003 to 2011), bringing a lot of creative chaos and dissolving of old boundaries. This isn't an entirely new energy, but when a planet changes directions, we feel the impact.  It's like the bass guitarist in a band, who's been carrying the background rhythm, is given a spotlight solo.  Suddenly we notice what's been there all along.

Earthy events mirror the cosmic events For example, in the mundane world, financial markets tend to be volatile and reverse with strong Uranus patterns in the sky, as they did when most financial markets reversed on June 26th.  When that happens, the price of oil goes higher, the price of food and gas goes higher and our minds spin out into all kinds of fear scenarios.  We feel like life is out of control, chaotic and unpredictable.  I'm not saying that there is no reality to the economic stress many people are going through.  Astrology can predict these cycles.  The more interesting question, though, is what else can we notice about right now?  For example, there are people in the world who are creating breakthroughs in alternative energy technologies (Uranus).  There are people in the world who are breaking out of their old political, social, and economic boundaries to create and more peaceful, unified, and compassionate world (Pisces). 

If something completely unexpected and unforeseen is happening to you, now could be a really good time to get honest with yourself.  How much do you actually want that thing that just passed out of your life?  Even if you think you wanted it, what might you want more if you allowed yourself to believe in greater possibilities?   It's radical, but there is always something new to replace what we have lost, even if we don't see it at the time.  Uranus in Pisces gives us momentary glimpse of our Soul's true journey while our ego is busy wondering how we got onto this road in the first place.  So again, where do you want your attention to be?  What kind of breakthrough might be possible?  Embrace the idea that to change your thinking is to change your life.  Uranus in watery, intuitive Pisces is actually more about getting your head and your heart together to create a Soul sustaining vision.  The key is to see your vision as already being here.  You may have to wait until early December when Uranus changes directions to manifest all the changes you want in your life.  But consider that "waiting" is really just a time period to be removing obstacles in the mind.  Consciousness needs to align with your intention.  In other words, ask yourself if you really ready for the changes you've asked for?  Change can happen instantly, so it's always a good idea to be open to miracles. 

The really great news now is that Uranus makes a positive connection with the New Moon this month, making it easier to make necessary changes.  Fortunately for us, everything really does happen at the right time if we attune ourselves to the rhythms of inner organic timing.  The Moon is the cosmic time keeper of this kind of time and this month She's on center stage.  The New Moon on July 2nd is in Cancer.  With the Moon in Her own sign, the archetype of the Great Mother prevails, calling us all back to our roots in one way or another.  The deep waters of dreams, intuition, the unconscious, and the longing to feel nurtured and connected will set the tone for the month.  People will be more pulled by nostalgia for the past and wanting to create a sense of security with all the changes that are taking place in the world.  It's a good time to spend more time at home and appreciate what we have.  With the Sun, Moon and Venus in Cancer, we are reminded that whatever we do or become in life, there are times when returning to our family circle or connecting with the deep inner self is the nourishing source that renews and sustains all of our accomplishments in the outer world.  The Moon in Cancer is like the tides of the ocean, so expect the ebb and flow of heightened emotions, as well as a continuation of extreme weather patterns, including more rain and flooding.  (This is another "super new moon" occurring very close to the earth which creates a stronger influence.

 With Venus in Cancer in the mix, enjoying the beauty or peace of your home with family, friends and loved ones feeds the soul.  If your home isn't the source of serenity you want it to be, Venus invites you to create an act of beauty and relax and enjoy.  Everything doesn't have to be done now.  The optimistic nature of Jupiter connected to Venus and the Moon inclines us toward generosity as we celebrate of the 4th of July this year, more likely in a much more subdued way.  Uranus, in a positive connection to this New Moon, draws a current of energy to seed breakthroughs that revitalize us in order to be engaged in the world in a new way.  Neptune and Chiron in the collectively oriented Aquarius suggest that we can do more together than we can do separately.  While Mercury and Uranus are conspiring to cook up some great ideas in the cauldron of imagination, Mars and Saturn in Virgo are hard at work to slow down our actions. 

Until July 11th when Mars meets up with Saturn, life might feel a lot like trying to drive with the brakes on.  The action planet, Mars, in earthy Virgo says "roll up your sleeves and get to work.  For Virgo, working hard attending to details, and striving for perfection are peak experiences.  The lesson from Saturn is to create more discipline and order to weed out unnecessary efforts that don't really get you where you want to go.    This is a good time to ask yourself whether what you're trying to accomplish serves your purpose.  You might even venture into the question of whether you're in synch with your Soul purpose.  This is the kind of question Saturn loves.  Then Saturn can become your ally and gives you the wisdom to chart your own course.  It's like the wise old Crone (or the wise old Grandfather) in the fairy tale who will reward you in the long run, once she's convinced that you actually know where you're going and why.  After July 11th, when Mars moves on from His discipline test, He has more room to move and energize our daily tasks.    Aim for something better without getting too hung up on making things perfect. 

With six of the ten planets this month in the receptive, yin water and earth signs for most of the month, the overall mood of the month is more introspective than active.  Action is best taken on the inner planes removing obstacles and taking the necessary time to contemplate the next right thing before you act.  Celebrate modest gains, perfecting necessary technical skills, and refining your style. This will get you more in the long run.  Do less with more and work smarter, not harder. 

The Full Moon in Capricorn on July 18th is a good time to check the balance between meeting your inner needs and accomplishing your outer goals, as well as an opportunity to become fabulously wise and witty.  A little know fact about Capricorns, who often come across as terribly serious and driven to accomplish their goals, is that they have great comedic timing.  Renew your faith in yourself, celebrate what you have accomplished and then just let go and receive a blessing from the Cosmic Mother.

Energy revs up and opportunities to be more creative and celebrate you for no particular reason open up after July 22nd.  The Sun moves into fiery Leo.  Venus, the planet of love will give us a lift socially when she moves out of watery Cancer and into Leo on July 13th, but she doesn't gain Her full power until the Sun joins Her.  Mercury, the mind planet, also moves into Leo on the 26th and ignites some fire and inspiration in our thoughts and communication.  Leo is the "girls just want to have fun" sign, so it's time to make sure you have enough time to play.  The month ends with Venus in conversation with Neptune creating a vision of Higher Love. We may find a stewpot of chaos and compassion, as well as romance and reunion in our relationships.  It's up to us.  Forgive someone who has hurt you and send them a blessing.  Celebrate art, beauty, love, peace in all of its forms and look for opportunities to be generous, just because you can.  If you're just dying to have something new and interesting happen, don't worry.  You'll soon have your wish with the Solar Eclipse on August 2nd, which is another way the Universe opens up new possibilities every six months, just because it can.

ARIES

You can get more focused on the present and deal with the frustration of not being able to act on everything you would like to by connecting with unconscious memories and dreams.  Clear the decks on an old issue through past life regression and forgiving yourself and others.  Renew yourself by creating harmony and beauty at home.

TAURUS

Say what you feel in a loving way and have a complete breakthrough in your ideas about love by spending time in groups that inspire and heal you.  You'll be surprised by how much energy you will have to share this inspiration and healing with others.

GEMINI

Create a new level of security in your finances by looking into what your real needs are.  Explore a new career path, make a difference in your work and think outside the box or someone else will.  New opportunities come in unexpected ways.

CANCER

Whatever you do this month, do it with great love and passion.  Even though you are more comfortable with what is familiar, you can expand your spiritual and philosophical horizons by traveling or learning from people who are completely different than you.

LEO

You don't have to know everything consciously to feel guided right now.  Reconnect with your Soul's true desire by traveling to inner realms and experience quiet inspiration from music, meditation and water.  You are awakening to greater consciousness by sudden insights into your deeper self.

VIRGO

Even though you're more inclined to focus on what's right in front of you, what you experience as disruptions from other people are actually opportunities for you to gain greater perspective and enlightened compassion.  Connecting to others in groups you belong to can provide the love and support you need.

LIBRA

A new career cycle is being seeded this month through relationships you have cultivated.  You can trust that this will benefit you, though your daily routines might feel like a roller coaster ride right now.  Make a dramatic change in your diet and exercise routine to get out of your head and into your body.

SCORPIO

Taking a trip or traveling in your mind through a new learning experience reinforces the deep inner wisdom you always seem to possess.  People are attracted to you and ask your advice.  A creative breakthrough leads you to express yourself in an unusual way.

SAGITTARIUS

A new cycle of rearranging your debts and resources this month will not only benefit you, but accomplished with relative ease through the help of someone who intrigues you  It's time for a completely radical overhaul of your definition of security since there may be upheaval with home and family.  Just go with it.

CAPRICORN

You're not only open to new ideas, but the words that come out of you flash with and unconventional brilliance this month.   Sometimes you won't believe what you just said.  A new relationship nurtures you in a gentle way and engages you in a very lively exchange of ideas.  Open up and really listen.

AQUARIUS

You don't always have to feel like and outsider.  Harmony and peace at work comes from people who support and appreciate you.  Financial ups and downs are offset by new and unusual opportunities to make more money if you think outside the box.  Drink more water.

PISCES

You might wake up this month and just have to make a dramatic change in your appearance to express the rebel in you.  You just don't feel like following the rules and why should you?  It's all part of an inner overhaul of your psyche as new and creative insights come to the surface.
