What is dating Violence?

Dating violence means violence between individuals who have, or have had, a relationship of aDate victim.jpg romantic or intimate nature.  This dating relationship must have existed within the last 6 months and the relationship must have been characterized by an expectation of affection or sexual involvement.   There is also a requirement that the interaction be maintained on a continuing basis.   Dating Violence does not include violence in a casual relationship or between individuals who have only engaged in ordinary fraternization in a business or social context.  In addition to actual violence, Dating Violence can also include behavior such as stalking, kidnapping or false imprisonment. My Personal Journey from Susan to Suzen

April 24th, 2008

I am going to Bali. How did this happen? By: Suzen

There is really no concise or reasonable answer to this question, but I have been asked to give the best explanation that I can. So I will begin with January 13th, 2008. I had been invited by a friend to a VisionMapping™ workshop presented by Lore Raymond.  I went for my friend — as I had only a mild interest in creating a “vision board.”  So I respectfully listened to some Feng Shui principles, which I had been exploring on my own, and answered some rather sobering questions regarding values and “living life with no regrets.” This is turning out to be much better than I anticipated! I thought to myself. As a bonus, I was surrounded by the vibrational energy of 18 powerful women and one very secure man. Read the rest of this entry »

Hair’s to You, Jill J. Stevens on Your 40th Birthday!

April 24th, 2008

Jill Stevens knows how to celebrate her birthday and how to raise money for a good cause.

I received an email invitation to Jill’s birthday party about a month ago.  The invitation included the opportunity to vote with donation to either “save or shave” Jill’s hair on her birthday.  I sent in my vote to “save the hair” and was looking forward to seeing Jill’s full head of hair- remaining on her head. At Home in the Vineyard- Book by Susan Sokol Blosser

October 30th, 2007

There are three drops of red wine on page 214 of my signed copy of Susan Sokol Blosser’s book, At Home in the Vineyard.  These drops fell on this page while I was on a flight from New York back to my home in Florida.  Deeply engrossed in the story and transported away from the present moment, I had ordered a glass of wine to enjoy on the flight while I read the book. It just seemed appropriate.  Unbeknownst to me, as I was reading, the glass of wine was sliding toward my lap from the plane’s vibrations.  I was at the end of the book and I could not avoid the tears that began to slowly roll down my face when suddenly, the glass of wine fell into my lap. I was drenched but thankfully, only three drops hit the book.  These drops will linger as a reminder of how I felt at the conclusion of this book.  I did not want it to end. FROM TOMBOY TO CEO

September 11th, 2007

“Hut 1, Hut 2, Hut 3!” I screamed at my charges lined up in front and behind me in the muddy backyard of a neighbor’s home in a small Midwest farm town in the middle of nowhere. It was 1967 and I was a 9-year old girl who actually believed she was Bart Starr leading his Green Bay Packers to yet another win and championship. In reality, though, the difference was quite obvious. I was a skinny toe-headed girl telling a bunch of boys what to do. Read the rest of this entry »
